Illinois Domestic Violence Fatality Review

About the DVFR

The Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee is an Ad Hoc Committee of the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority Board.

The Domestic Violence Fatality Review Act (Public Act 102-0520) created the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee (DVFRC) in 2021. The DVFRC is responsible for establishing regional domestic violence fatality review teams in Illinois, serving as a statewide domestic violence fatality review training and technical assistance resource, and issuing recommendations for systems change. Regional domestic violence fatality review teams are multi-disciplinary teams that review Illinois domestic violence fatality cases to identify recommendations.
